1. Deputy Director Legal Advisory

Responsibilities:

Responsible to provide advice, guidance and services on all legal matters in related to Energy Commission’s functions.

Roles:

• Provide competent written and oral legal advice and opinion on a timely basis and in accordance with the applicable laws and other relevant laws under the scope of duty and jurisdiction of the Energy Commission;
• Preparation and completion of legal documents under the regulation of the Energy Commission;
• Vetting of agreements and other legal documents in the best interest of the Energy Commission;
• Supervise the work by panel lawyers representing the Energy Commission;
• Manage and coordinate the Unit’s administration and management such as staff management, finance, records and assets;
• Provide input and feedback to the higher management concerning initiatives, proposals, development and achievement related to the functions of the Unit; and
• Carry out other duties as directed by the superior from time to time.

Requirements:

• LLB (Honours) Degree from a University accredited by the Government;
• Masters Degree or above in Law from a University accredited by the Government is an added advantage;
• Minimum eight (8) years’ working experience in the legal field including and not limited to civil litigation and criminal law;
• Experience in legal opinion writing and legal document drafting related to the regulation of the energy sector in accordance with the relevant Acts and regulations is an added advantage;
• Strong analytical and research skills;
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
• Possess a positive outlook, disciplined and results-oriented; and
• Excellent command of both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.

The candidates who meet the required criteria will go through a thorough selection and assessment process including competency and suitability test. Only selected candidates will be notified and invited to attend an interview.
