History PPPNS establishment started in 1969 based on the idea of the late Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia's second prime minister. It received approval from the Central Agency for the Malaysian Treasury and the Department of Public Service and endorsed by all the Chief Minister / Chief Minister at the time.
At that time, it was known as the State Development Office (PKN) and placed under the Ministry of National Development and Rural (KPNLB). With the launch of the New Economic Policy (NEP) in 1970, the Coordination Unit, Implementation and Evaluation (Implementation, Coordination and Evaluation Unit - ICEU) was founded in 1971 and PKN under this unit. This unit was later known as the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU).
