Food Safety and Quality Division (BKKM) is one of the programs under the Director General of Health, Ministry of Health (MOH See chart). Food Safety and Quality Division was established to protect the public from health hazards and fraud in the preparation, sale and storage of food. This activity has grown rapidly since the 1950s. Prior to 1985, the enforcement of safety and quality of food is carried out under the Sale of Food and Drugs 1952 legal requirements of food is realized with the country's progress in line with global developments in security and food security; technological developments in food production and food marketing. Food Act 1983 and Food Regulations 1985 came into force on October 1985.
